Program Archive

The boorda yeyi archive is a growing record of the ideas, exchanges and creative shifts shaped through this three-year program. It brings together the voices, processes and gatherings that have defined each year, offering a space to look back, learn, and trace the evolution of the program over time.

Here you’ll find documentation from the inaugural 2025 program cycle, a foundation year that set the rhythm and intention for what boorda yeyi continues to become. These pages hold the energy of a pivotal beginning: the conversations that seeded new directions, the mentorships that nurtured early sparks, and the creative investigations that unfolded across practice and collaboration.

The Foundational Symposium archive brings together key presentations, case studies and workshop materials from each year’s gathering, offering a snapshot of the ideas and conversations that have guided the program’s thinking.

The Intensive Mentorship archive reflects the prototypes developed by each cohort, capturing how artists have experimented, collaborated and expanded their immersive practices.

The Immersive Arts Commission archive is still taking shape. April Phillips’ work Under Waters is currently in development, moving from early-stage production into its first public presentation. This stage of the program reflects the evolution of a major immersive artwork as it grows from concept into full installation.

The Regional Tour archive is also in progress. Under Waters is scheduled to tour across Western Australia from March to April 2026, setting the tone for how immersive arts will travel, adapt and engage with regional communities in the years ahead.

The Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) is a non-profit, multi-arts organisation situated in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre on Whadjuk Noongar boodja in Western Australia. Since 1989, we have worked as a development and presenting organisation, delivering curated programs of exhibitions, contemporary dance, experimental theatre, new music and live art by Australian and international artists.

PICA is recognised as a leader at the intersection of art forms and champions artists who challenge boundaries. We provide studio, event, learning and access programs that forge connections between artists and audiences across cultures and geographies. We are committed to creating sustainable pathways for artists, working with them throughout their careers, remaining responsive to their changing needs and the evolving arts landscape.
