2026 FOUNDATIONAL SYMPOSIUM APPLICATION FORM

The Foundational Symposium is a free, weekend-long program of talks, demonstrations and keynote presentations exploring contemporary immersive arts. Designed for artists who want to expand their skills, meet collaborators and experiment with emergent reality technologies, the Symposium is suited both to the digitally curious and to practitioners with advanced technical skills who are interested in forming connections across the field.  

PICA offers travel bursaries for artists from remote and regional communities wishing to attend the Symposium. Please indicate in your application if you would like to be considered. 

The 2026 Foundational Symposium will be held at the State Library of Western Australia and the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts.

Both venues are wheelchair accessible. If you have specific access requirements, please note them in the application form.
